Hello, my name is Nancy,

Osteoporosis occurs when the body fails to form enough new bone when too much
old bone is reabsorbed by the body, or both. Weight bearing exercises such as high
resistance training with free weights or weight machines can help prevent bone loss or
reduce the likelihood of bone fractures in people with osteoporosis.
Belly Fat and the risk of cancer and heart disease.
If you're over weight your risk of cancer goes up significantly. The
biggest health risks are heart disease and type II diabetes, There is
a laundry list of health risks for both men and women associated with
excess belly fat.
The Mayo Clinic warns that belly fat can increase insulin resistance which can lead to
type 2 diabetes. The hormones secreted by visceral fat cells can cause metabolic disorders.
Cancer Research UK reports a body mass index above the healthy range (over
25) can greatly increase your risk of cancer.
"Excess body fat is not harmless 'extra padding', but active tissue producing hormones
that can increase the risk of cancer." A study published in The New England Journal Of
Medicine last year found an increased risk of all types of cancer (to varying degrees) in
those with a body mass index above the healthy range of twenty five.
In addition, belly fat makes a person more prone to strokes and high blood pressure.
It can increase bad cholesterol and cause gall bladder problems along with high
triglycerides, which is an excess of fat in the blood.
Belly fat can also cause sleep apnea, a potentially dangerous condition in which a
person stops breathing periodically during sleep.
The list certainly goes on...
Bootcamp, yoga, pilates, cross fit, personal trainers, the number of new fitness fads
keeps growing. (I'm feeling dizzy,) Let me make this perfectly clear: DeepTone®
